Data Deletion and De-Identification Requests
Users may request deletion of their account or request deletion, de-identification, or anonymization of certain personal data associated with the Crane Checklist app by contacting us at info@cranechecklist.com or by following any deletion-request process made available within the app or on this website. We will review each request individually and respond in accordance with applicable law, contractual obligations, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
In most cases, we cannot fully delete, anonymize, or de-identify inspection-related records because the app is used primarily by employees of organizations that purchased the service to create and maintain OSHA-related inspection, safety, and compliance records that may need to be preserved for audits, investigations, legal proceedings, insurance matters, and other compliance purposes.
Where the app is provided through an employer, fleet owner, customer company, or other organizational license, the organization that purchased or administers the service may control the inspection records created by its users. In those cases, we may require the request to come from, be approved by, or be coordinated with the organization that owns the account or records before taking action. In some cases, we may be unable to fulfill the request if deletion or de-identification would interfere with required record retention, evidentiary preservation, safety documentation, or compliance obligations.
For individually licensed users who are not creating or maintaining records on behalf of an employer or other organization, we can generally process a request to delete the user’s account and associated data, subject to any limited information we must retain for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute resolution, or backup and archival purposes. Requests for individually licensed accounts may be submitted by email to info@cranechecklist.com.
When we cannot fully delete data, we may, where appropriate and feasible, limit further processing, restrict account access, dissociate certain data from active use, or retain only the information required for legal, compliance, security, audit, backup, or evidentiary purposes. Retained data will continue to be protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Please note that deletion of an account does not necessarily mean immediate removal of all data from active systems and backups. Some information may remain for a reasonable period in backups, logs, archived systems, or records that we are legally required or operationally required to maintain. When retention is required, we will keep the information only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
